My name is Debbie Hamrick. I worked at Fantasy Farm in 1981 and 1982. Even today, I think it was the best job I've ever had. I met lots of friends, got a lot of sun, and ate a lot of those little deep-fried waffles with powdered sugar..

I made a big $1.25 per hour and probably spent 60% of my check every week at the arcade playing skee-ball. Most of the time I operated the Ferris wheel and, boy did we have problems with that thing. I remember many times the wheel going backwards and scaring the passengers and myself half to death!

My younger brother spent a lot of time there when I was working. At the time, I probably thought he was a pest, but now I look back at those days and laugh. We used to spend a lot of time digging in the sand pit for change, thinking we were going to hit it rich. I don't remember actually ever finding any money. I cherish the memories I have of those two summers we spent countless hours enjoying the park. It's sad that our children will never get to experience the special times we had at Fantasy Farm.

Also, I spotted a photo of myself in the photo gallery for the 80's. I'm the one operating the Ferris wheel! That's my brother's head in the edge of the photo! (Photo at the top left of this page).

Attached are 2 photos. (View them in the Photo Gallery here). First of my father, Lewis Patrick. We loved when he went with us, because it was a rare thing, because he worked a lot of hours in the summer. My brother, Rob Patrick, is in the background, probably running to the next ride.
