Memories of Fantasy Farm

Roger Geisler, OH. I worked for Edgar and his wife,Nellie back in 1978 and the official name was House and Farm Inc.,at least that's what my check stubs say (which I still have). He was a very picky person and his wife was also. She would work all day as hard or harder than anyone and she always wore these old work boots that made here look like Granny on the Beverly Hillbillies.Edger used to have this 3 wheel electric bike he used to ride around on all over the park. Edger suffered from arthritis during the years he operated Fantasy Farm.]I was a mechanic and had to fix everything and make spare parts for some of the turnpike cars that we made and sold to other parks. I seem to remember sending some parts to Knotts Berry Farm. We also made all the benches and tables from fiberglass molds we had in the shop. The name of the business for the turnpike cars was Streco Auto Turnpike Manufacturing, I think. I have some old photos somewhere around here if I can find them from back then. It was a pretty cool job for an 18 year old. Then I went next door and worked for Howard at Americana (LeSourdsville Lake Inc.) as a year round mechanic.
