Memories of Fantasy Farm

The Petting Zoo in '68 The thing I enjoyed most was the petting zoo.  I absolutely loved being with the farm animals.  I can still remember my little sticky hands after feeding them.  I was born in 1962 and my parents and brother Roger continued to go every year for the next 10-12 years.

Probably the funniest memory I have is of my brother and I being out on the little pond in a paddle or row boat(I can't remember which it was).  My brother is five years older than me and as with all older siblings with their younger siblings, he had a tendency to be bossy.   He was trying to tell me how to maneuver that little boat around.  Well....I was having none of his advice!  So I decided right then and there on the boat in the middle of the pond, that I had enough and wanted off!!   So here I am in my cutesy little pastel jumper with my red hair practically bristling with anger, standing up in the boat.  Of course my brother was mortified as was my Mother watching from the side of the pond.  The more embarrassed my brother got, the more I rocked the boat.   By this time one of the park attendants came over the megaphone requesting the girl in the pink dress with red hair to please sit down.  My Mother was so embarrassed by our sibling spat, that she made my Dad claim us at the pond dock!  To this day my family laughs
about that little "incident" well...not so much my Brother.

I hated to hear that Fantasy Farm had closed.  It was such a wonderful place for all to go.   I'm glad I didn't see the place after it got run down, that would have been depressing.  I have some pictures of my Brother and I at the Farm, I will try to track one down and send it.
