Memories of Fantasy Farm

Debbie Morrison: My parents use to take us seven kids to fantasy farm for picnics and to ride the rides.  I remember the peddle boats the most, the fun house and the arcade.   I remember Edgar Streifthau walking around the park greeting everyone and in later years riding a golf cart.

It was always a special treat to go to Fantasy Farm.  We would take a big picnic lunch and stay all day.  When I was 15 years old I can remember working at the park for a short time ( 2 weeks) due to lack of transportation I had to quit. I remember the outfits we had to wear. A red and white checked blouse and a pair of denim blue bib shorts. Cute outfit. Of all the fun I had there when I was little, I think I had just as much, or maybe more as an adult with my family. My husband Michael Lee Morrison, who is a musician and has played music with groups such as "C.D.Craft and Sagebrush" and "Gary Roberts and Cottonmouth", has had the opportunity to play at both Fantasy Farm and Lesourdsville Lake. In 1976 when I met Michael he was with Sagebrush, and they played every Saturday and Sunday at Lesourdsville Lake in Tombstone Territory.  Later in 1983 when Michael joined Gary Roberts and Cottonmouth, one of the jobs they had was an occasional booking at Fantasy Farm on a special Holiday Memorial Day, Fathers Day, Labor Day, and these were usually done along with a Radio Station (no longer in existence) 96.5 The Beaver.   I cannot remember exactly when the last time they played there was but I am guessing sometime in 1990 or 1991.    I had great times there with my family when I was young and with my family when I became a mom.  Too bad it is not there for new generations to enjoy.
