What is a Fantasy Farm
Celebrity anyway?
A Fantasy
Farm Celebrity is someone connected to Fantasy Farm in a way other than a park visitor.
For example, any ex-employee of Fantasy Farm would be considered a Celebrity here at the
Memorial. If you think you might fit into this category please write to us
at the email address given at the bottom of this page. Please share some
memories and history to go along with your name and trophy.
Edger Streifthau:
Founder of both LeSourdsville Lake Amusement Park and
Fantasy Farm. Learn more about Edger and the history behind Fantasy Farm by visiting our History page's.
William Johnson: Second
and last owner of Fantasy Farm Amusement Park. Bill bought the park from Edgar Streifthau
in 1982. "It was something I wanted ever since I set foot in an amusement park as a
kid", Bill had said in a Cincinnati Enquirer article published in April 1983. We here
at the Memorial feel Bill did a great job trying to keep Fantasy Farm going for us in a
time when small parks were a dying breed. Thanks Bill.

DJ LeFever: I
worked at the Farm for several years. I have operated each and every ride
at one time or another. I especially enjoyed operating the Eli Bridge
Ferris Wheel for every season it was in the Farm from 1981 till the ol'
man Johnson sold it. If there is anyone out there that can remember having
their shoelace untied or their left shoe removed while riding the Ferris
Wheel, it was me. I also have great memories of working in the during
closed season. I believe that I had a hand in painting each and every ride
there over my time I was an employee. I began working at the Farm
in winter of '81 and I have lived on this property ever since. You can not
believe how sad I am to see the place now. It hurts to see it as it is. I
have some great memories of this place. Many of them I can not mention,
Such as Fantasy After Dark. I still have quite a few objects of interest
such as a pillow case, giant beer mug, and a few other things. I hope to
talk to anyone who remembers me taking their shoe off while riding the
Ferris Wheel. I remember the year after the Wheel was removed a woman came
to the Trabant ride I was operating and asked me if I was the one running
the Ferris Wheel last year? Not knowing if I had done something wrong back
then I was afraid to answer. When I finally said yes she said "See
that girl wearing the red shirt and white shorts, that is my little girl,
we were last year and that kid has talked about all last winter was coming
to Fantasy Farm to see the shoe thief so please when she gets on this ride
please take her shoe off" I felt like a million bucks. DJ
