The
stage coach inn was constructed in 1885 to serve as an inn /restaurant/
saloon to serve the travelers from Columbus to Dayton, or Cincinnati to
Dayton. It was built on the property where Baker concrete, and Lifco are
now in the island between north and south lanes of Rt 4 is now. It was
moved to the present site in 1910 by a Mr. Newlander. The original hand
carved cherry wood bar that was appr. 28 ft. long and 10 ft. tall was
bought buy a person from England around 1982 or 1983 where it is used
now. It was beautifully hand made. I sat at the bar in 1981 and drank a
beer.
