My name is Erin.
I'm 28 years old. My mother and grandmother used to take me to
Fantasy Farm when I was four years old and under. I had not thought
about the
park in many, many years, when, one day, some friends of my husband's
and mine
moved to Monroe. When we went to help them move, we were driving on
North 4, and
I saw that old wooden sign again. At that point, I started asking Mom
about the
park and looking through some of my old pictures, to see if any had been
taken
there. I searched the Internet for any info I could find on the park. When I
came across this website, which I have really enjoyed browsing. I have
about
four pictures taken at Fantasy Farm in my collection, which I will send
to this
email address as soon as my friend scans them to disk for me. One has me
about
one year old, riding the red electric train (see
movie). Another one has me riding
on the
clown ride (see
movie), at about age four. A third has me riding the Funky Phantom
(?),
also as
a four year old. The last one is of me and my grandma riding in a
turnpike car (see
movie).
I had to ask mom and also check my pictures against ones already on the
website
to verify that they were taken there.
I noticed that a lot of people who posted memories on this website say
that
memories of Fantasy Farm are a refuge for them in the hectic times of
adult
life. Since I have started thinking about the park again, my mind drifts
back to
what I know of it through pictures and this website when things get
rough in my
life, but thinking of the park never gives me complete peace. Yes, it's
a happy
place where parents and kids loved each other and had fun, but it was
here
yesterday, and gone today. The only true and lasting peace and solace I
can find
about anything, anywhere is through reading the Bible and knowing God's
son,
Jesus Christ, as my personal Savior. I became a Christian when I was 18.
He says
in Matthew 11:28 " Come to Me ( Jesus ) all who are weary and heavy
laden, and I
will give you rest."
